The Associate Director of the Center for Healthy Living serves as leader in the Center for Healthy Living, which serves as the hub for student counseling, student health and wellness, and nutrition for the Long Island University Post Campus. The Associate Director assists in the supervision of part-time, and interns within the department. The Associate Director serves in an advisory and on-call capacity for all student emergencies and issues.



Principal Responsibilities:

* Assists in management of the daily operations of LIU Center for Healthy Living to ensure exceptional student support of Long Island University students.
* Provide administrative support and secondary oversight of medical, counseling, and nutritional services.
* Provide clinical supervision for the professional counseling staff and interns.
* Serves as an on-call administrator for mental health counseling and student emergencies for all Long Island University students.
* Oversees the implementation of a robust Health and Wellness Programming Calendar.
* Serves as a mental health counselor, providing direct counseling and crisis intervention services to students.
* Provides support, guidance, and counsel to all University staff and administrators across LIU campuses.
* Develops plans for the continuing improvement of office procedures and the implementation of new technologies and operational functionalities.
* Oversees the University compliance with New York State Health and Immunization policies and practices.
* Collaborate with campus partners to provide exceptional student support and training on student health and well-being.
* Ensure Center for Healthy Living provides superior customer service to all students and families in person or via phone for all their educational needs.
* In collaboration with the Director, complete regular assessment of the Center for Healthy Living, including providing monthly, semester, and annual reports to Student Affairs and University Assessment Teams.
* Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Center for Healthy Living.

Education Requirements:

* Degree in counseling/clinical psychology, counseling, or equivalent.
* Two to three years of experience in a clinical/counseling position.
* Supervisory and management experience is preferred

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

* Experience with the young adult and adult population.

Working Conditions:

* Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to execute the position's role responsibly.

Materials & Equipment:

* Computer, fax machine, copier, phone.
