The highly successful Laboratory for Inflammatory Skin Diseases at the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, that is responsible for exciting discoveries leading to development of new treatments, is seeking highly motivated associate and senior associate researchers who will be a central part of a very well-funded laboratory that focuses on human skin studies.


Job duties include immunohistochemistry, RNA extractions and purification from skin and blood tissues, real-time PCR, RNAseq, purifying cell populations from blood and flow cytometry reactions and analysis and other studies utilizing molecular and cellular approaches. This is an opportunity to participate in cutting edge novel studies that can advance our understanding of inflammatory skin diseases and lead to new treatments. Qualifications

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Molecular biology, Genetics or Biochemistry)
  • Thesis work or Summer Internship in a wet-lab project (PREFERRED)
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, including familiarity with laboratory equipment and pipetting procedures (REQUIRED)
  • 0-2 years of experience (PREFERRED) 
  • Experience with DNA/RNA extraction or PBMC Processing (PREFERRED)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to document and present research findings

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Prior lab experience is required. Ideally candidates should have experience in immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, RNAseq, flow cytometry and other molecular biology techniques.
