Marlin's subservicing vendors also have mortgage origination capabilities, enhancing customer retention efforts and providing a natural hedge for investors.


Position Description:


The MSR Transaction Manager will oversee the entire process of mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) transactions, including managing external vendors, ensuring compliance with agency guidelines, and assisting with secondary marketing functions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of loan servicing practices and MSR transactions.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the complete transaction process for mortgage servicing rights (MSRs).
  • Manage external vendors for Third Party File Reviews, Due Diligence Process, Settlements, and other aspects of the pre-settlement and post-settlement process.
  • Assist with the completion of counterparty/vendor documents & contracts, including but not limited to letters of intent, purchase and sales agreements, NDAs, and service agreements.
  • Ensure that all transaction-related deliverables and tasks are completed on time.
  • Manage the document collateral storage and release process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the company's secondary marketing needs, including managing the lock desk, hedge position, and generating secondary marketing reports.
  • Utilize third-party tools to generate pricing for correspondent loan purchases.

Skills:

  • Ability to independently complete and review FHLMC & FNMA investor reporting and associated processes.
  • Experience with MSR transaction management.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing practices.
  • Leadership and management skills with the ability to evaluate, identify, communicate, mitigate risk, and collaborate with a multi-functional staff in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of agency reporting and reconciliation requirements associated with mortgage loans.
  • Ability to perform and facilitate payment tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, solve complex problems, and understand the related impact on the business and stakeholders within the framework of corporate, regulatory, and investor policies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience with Optimal Blue, Compass Analytics, or MCT.
  • Secondary Marketing Knowledge or Experience.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience with mortgage servicing and originations.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of MSR transactions and agency guidelines.
  • Other areas of mortgage experience, besides compliance, will be reviewed for applicability for this position.
