Responsibilities:


  • Defend community associations against lawsuits alleging premises liability, breach of contract, discrimination, and other claims
  • Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage obligations for claims filed against community associations
  • Represent insurance companies in disputes with policyholders regarding coverage denials
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other court documents
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, and trials
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies to minimize future legal exposure
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations governing community associations and insurance policies
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to manage caseloads efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance companies, opposing counsel, and the court


Qualifications:


  • VA Bar License
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, preferably with a focus on community association law
  • Proven track record of success in resolving complex legal disputes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with community association governance and operations
