About the role

We are searching for a strategic and proactive Director of Social Media to join our Marketing Team. This role will be overseeing all JRB organic social media channels, developing and executing platform specific strategy, managing content creation and its production, overseeing community management, and partnering with external content creators. This role will collaborate with the creative team and co-lead the initial drafting, production and final editing of all in-house developed content. This role will also lead special projects for Bobbi where her personal social media channels are involved. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in growing the Jones Road brand affinity and ensuring the company’s brand identity remains consistent through all marketing endeavors. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Brand Marketing.


What you’ll do

  • Social Media Strategy
  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies for all platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
  • Utilize SEO, trending searches and social listening to inform content strategies and optimize posts for maximum views and engagement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for each platform that is specific to the platform itself in terms of content type, audience, consumption trends, etc.
  • Content Production and Management
  • Oversee the production of both lo-fi and high-def content as needed for each channel, ensuring high performance for each asset.
  • Direct and manage social content creation, including video production and editing considerations.
  • Collaborate with the in-house creative team to produce high quality content that blends the brand standards and aesthetic with performance.
  • Own the strategy and process involved in outsourced content creation.
  • Oversee special projects such as Bobbi’s personal social needs as well as where the content on Bobbi’s personal channel intersects with Jones Road.
  • Performance and Analysis
  • Own the performance metrics for all social media initiatives, regularly providing updates and reports on KPIs.
  • Consistently adjust strategy based on performance metrics to optimize efforts.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, trends and best practices to anticipate directional changes proactively.
  • Community Management
  • Own the strategy and execution of community management across all social channels, working closely with our customer service and influencer teams to ensure positive outcomes for all.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor the social media team (manager, interns, and community managers).


What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years experience in social media marketing.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Director role for social media marketing.
  • Track record of running a strong performing YouTube channel is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to maintain brand voice and tone across all communications.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A baseline understanding of the beauty industry, the Jones Road Beauty brand, and the competitive landscape.
  • Proficiency in google suite software and other relevant tools.
  • Experience in the beauty or consumer goods industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with product teams and external partners to execute marketing strategies.
  • Adept at problem-solving, with a strategic mindset and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • Ability to work from our Montclair, NJ office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
