POSITION DESCRIPTION/

The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with other members of the Tangram Flex team to strategize, support, and successfully implement current and prospective client and partner relationship strategies and develop proposals for new business opportunities. This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced environment necessitating a high level of adaptability and organization. Alignment across these factors is essential for achieving successful outcomes.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify and lead new Business Development opportunities to grow new and existing business pipeline.
  • Educate existing and potential government customers, industry partners, and internal team members on the Tangram value proposition; delivers product demonstrations and presentations
  • Execute business development strategies/plans for achieving growth and profitability goals, all while remaining aligned with the company's overall strategic goals, objectives, mission, and values
  • Focus growth initiatives in core market areas including software interoperability, integration, and assurance
  • Develop, execute, capture and win strategies including business/technical solutions for pursuits
  • Identify resources required to pursue and guide bid and proposal activities
  • Engaging with prospects and customers through various channels is crucial for building relationships. Attendance at industry events, trade shows, pre-proposal briefings; as well as phone, email, social media, and webinars.
  • Establish customer profiles including customer needs/issues/preferences/biases
  • Regularly interact with all levels of Tangram team
  • Prepare, build, and communicate pipeline plans for Gate Reviews and Lessons Learned sessions

DESIRED SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES/

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or engineering plus experience working in the federal, defense, software or aviation markets
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance or ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • 2 years + experience working in, and establishing relationships with the Department of Defense and Acquisition Community customers and industry counterparts (prime contractors, domain vendors/suppliers)
  • Ability to actively interface with customers from both a technical and programmatic context.
  • Ability to convert vague customer requirements into a refined vision and detailed tasking for a proposal and technical teams.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create demonstrations and test integration of new tools and solutions with existing software
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the Shipley methodology
  • Experience in a Business Development role within the Department of Defense industry providing software and integration solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in the Federal DoD IT market.
