Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Start Teacher located in Santa Barbara, CA. The Head Start Teacher will be responsible for facilitating the curriculum, maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment, screening and assessing students, education, communication, teaching, and training activities on a day-to-day basis.


Position Details

  • 1x position in Santa Barbara and 1x position in Carpinteria (infant/toddler)
  • Starting off with a 6-month contract, can extend after if all goes well
  • Monday - Friday (times will vary between 7am-5pm but will be 8 hour shifts)
  • Mix of GEN and SPED kids (population is 0-5 years old)
  • Each classroom has two teachers and a para (will also have other staff on site for support)
  • The curriculum is already laid out, but changes can be made if necessary, mainly just facilitating it
  • Start: ASAP
  • Travel Pay: $2200/gross weekly (must live 50+ miles from site to qualify) or Local rate: $48/hr


Qualifications

  • Must have a Child Development Permit or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) / Child Development (CD) or higher with 12 units of ECE/CD
