About this Position: The Team Lead Athletic Trainer role will operate as a client’s contract employee leading a team of 2-3 other athletic trainers. The ideal candidate for this position should have strong clinical skills and leadership aptitudes. This position will help cultivate and grow a culture of safety, health, wellbeing at a large manufacturing facility. Additionally, this position offers support from other Athletic Trainers outside of the immediate team to utilize as a resource to learn, grow, and develop within the industrial athletic training space.
The Team Lead Athletic Trainer will work at a client site leading a small team providing industrial/occupational health athletic training services.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate within the athletic training scope of practice and applicable government regulation:
- Risk Reduction, Wellness and Health Literacy
- Assessment, Evaluation and Diagnosis
- Critical Incident Management
- Therapeutic Intervention
- Health Care Administration and Professional Responsibility
- The primary function of this position is to provide early intervention care to general population employees thus mitigating risk and preventing injury.
- Maintain a visual presence for the client’s employees to be available when needed.
- Maintain effective communication lines with client EHS, HR, Work Comp, and Operational Leadership.
- Integrate with the client and participate in client meetings and committees.
- Assist client to establish and strive towards strategic goals that match CAREonsite services.
- Build, develop, manage, and present training, educational programs, etc. as the client requests.
- Document patient treatment per professional and regulatory standards while ensuring the security of sensitive records is always maintained.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Assist the client’s environmental health and safety team as needed with miscellaneous activities.
- Join the client's employees during day-to-day activities as seen fit with client permission.
- Provide ideas, thoughts, and opinions to CAREonsite leadership on the expansion of the growing CAREonsite athletic trainer service.
Required Qualifications:
- Iowa Athletic Training Licensure or Eligibility for Iowa Athletic Training Licensure.
- Active Basic Life Support & CPR certification
- Mobility, strength, visual and auditory acuity adequate for immediate response to patient’s needs
- Ability to work without direct supervision
