Job Description: Senior Information Security Engineer
The Senior Information Security Engineer executes the Firm’s information security strategy under the guidance of the Director of Information Security. This role designs and develops systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cybersecurity, ensuring security needs are met in operations, systems analysis, design, hardening, vulnerability testing, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. The ideal candidate integrates new security solutions into the existing technology suite while maintaining productivity and fostering positive relationships. Staying current with evolving cyber threats and emerging technologies is crucial to provide security recommendations and resolve issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, configure, and implement new/existing security applications/tools.
- Configure, implement, monitor, and support security software/systems, ensuring compliance with Firm policies.
- Execute and coordinate IT policies and procedures, compliance reviews.
- Identify and integrate security best practices into network and system designs.
- Recommend changes to security policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Manage relationships with Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs).
- Identify security problems, monitor performance, perform upgrades, and recommend hardware/software enhancements.
- Conduct information risk assessments, compliance monitoring, and penetration testing.
- Monitor information systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Advise on trends, news, and changes in threat and compliance environments.
- Implement policy-driven security practices and role-based access controls (RBAC).
- Support security testing for new and existing applications/products.
- Assist with IT security within the system development lifecycle, change management, and technology projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of information security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
- Hands-on experience with security controls and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning).
- Expertise in zero trust networking, VPNs, and cloud security.
- Knowledge of Anti-Malware, secure email gateways, web proxies, vulnerability management, risk assessment, MFA/SSO/SAML management.
- Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategies.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Ability to support and develop IT security policies and procedures.
- Skill in data analysis, system evaluation, and drawing logical conclusions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in IT security or related functions.
- 3 years of project management experience preferred.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Microsoft Azure Certification.
- Coming from a Law or Professional Service Firm is strongly preferred.
