About the Role:

The Chief Engineer oversees all hotel maintenance operations and the engineering team.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure aa Preventative Maintenance program for guest rooms, is executed.
  • Maintain the safety and safety checks of all equipment and the operating working order of all equipment.
  • Manage any and all 3rd party work that is bid out for repair and CAPEX projects
  • Create a team environment in your department and with all other departments: Front Office, housekeeping, Sales and any 3rd party operations in the building
  • Work safe utilization of proper PPE and comply with all safety regulations set for by the city, state and OSHA
  • Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel
  • Manage your team, schedules, payroll, meetings and other duties as assigned by the GM


Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent education required. A trade school or bachelors degree preferrred
  • 2 years previously supervising a team of 3 or more preferred
  • 3 years experience working as an engineer for a building or hotel preferred


Required Skills:

  • Mathematical knowledge around building and construction
  • Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Have ability to estimate costs on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, heating and machinery
  • Use and knowledge of machine operating such as: drill presses, power saws, lathes, basic plumbing,
