Description for Vice President of Manufacturing Operations:

The Vice President of Manufacturing Operations will lead the development and execution of global operations strategy for a global company specializing in safety and environmental devices. The role entails overseeing production, procurement, logistics, technology development, continuous improvement, and product delivery. Candidates should possess experience in managing manufacturing operations, leading LEAN initiatives, and driving business transformation in a highly regulated industry.


Responsibilities for Vice President of Manufacturing Operations:

  • Provide strategies that continually improve the manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and coordinate with product development to create a smooth transition into a production environment.
  • Ensure efficient operation of all manufacturing facilities to consistently deliver forecasted production and meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost metrics.
  • Champion a continuous process improvement environment across all aspects of production, assembly, quality, safety, supply chain and production engineering.
  • Implement a global supply chain strategy that ensures delivery of a high quality and sustainable product pipeline, optimizes inventory management, reduces COGS, and ensures business resilience.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to push the boundaries of technology to support business growth efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Drive the use of business intelligence solutions that increase the organization’s access to data and analytical insight and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and manage the Operations Operating and Capital Budgets, and resources to deliver the company’s short- and long-term revenue and profit targets.


Requirements for Vice President of Manufacturing Operations:


  • Experience of managing Manufacturing Operations in a highly regulated industry like medical or electronics (assembly focused).
  • Experience leading manufacturing/LEAN, supply chain, continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A focused mindset to achieve outcomes through the application of cell, batch, and Lean principles across the organization.
  • Expertise leading change and business transformation.
  • Proven ability to optimize working capital within a supply chain structure.
  • Strategic thinking – able to articulate a long-term vision for Operations and move forward key drivers for success.
