                                     JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSE MANAGER


                                                     GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB


Under occasional supervision, assists Operations Manager with the supervision of warehousing and transportation activities for B & B Distributors. Ensures shipping, receiving and inventory duties are performed properly and efficiently by warehouse second shift staff. Reports to the Operations Manager.



                                            SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Supervises the daily operations of the B & B Distributors first shift warehouse team, including warehouse lead, product handlers and warehouse team leader.


Supervises equipment operators. Supervisory duties include instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, selecting new employees and acting on employee problems. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness, accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures; provides advice and assistance as needed.


Ensures subordinate personnel comply with established safety rules and regulations.


Manages the shipping and receiving of all products, including non-beer products. Duties include loading and/or supervising the loading of product onto route delivery trucks using the VIP route builder computer system and software. Verifies orders/loads with the VIP weight scales system to match predicted pallet weight with actual weight. Directs correction of orders if variations are outside set tolerance levels. Supervises the movement of product from CEW 2 to CEW 1 pick area as needed using the VIP Location Based Inventory Management System.


Supervises the parking and staging of route delivery trucks in the drive-thru.


Pulls tractor trailer trucks from loading dock to assigned staging area and backs tractor trailer trucks into the loading dock area.


Assists in managing the company's fleet of trucks and vehicles, performing such duties as recording and submitting month-end mileage readings, collecting and filing DVCR reports, etc.


Ensures inventory is properly checked in and out of the warehouse; monitors and prepares product damage reports.


Rotates products in the warehouse to ensure the oldest product is loaded first; enforces code date policies.


Ensures warehouse is closed on a timely basis each evening according to established procedures; monitors efficiency of warehouse operations after hours and on weekends; ensures security of warehouse.


Attends staff meetings as necessary.


Receives and reviews bills of ladings, invoices, inventory records, DVCR, shipping records, load requests, etc.


Prepares damage reports, code cards, timecards, etc.


Refers to policy and procedure manuals, equipment manuals, vehicle maintenance manuals, safety manuals, schedules, code date books, etc.


Operates a forklift, vehicle, tractor-trailer truck, hand truck, pallet jack, float, telephone, handheld computer and desktop computer etc.


Uses various forms and clerical supplies, hand tools, shrink-wrap tools, glue gun, thermometer, replacement parts, packing material, etc.


Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the Operations Manager, General Manager, subordinate warehouse staff, other company staff, trucking company personnel, service contractors, and the public.



ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Maintains and/or supervises the maintenance of a clean and orderly warehouse; assists in supervising the duties of maintenance/service contractors.


Monitors the inventory of and distributes office supplies.


Performs minor repairs to equipment as needed.


Maintains CO2 inventory.


Responds to emergency alarms 24 hours per day, seven days per week as needed.


Performs related duties as required.




MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE


Requires a high school diploma supplemented by three to five years of experience in warehouse operations or management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a forklift certification and a valid state CDL driver's license with appropriate endorsements.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED

TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a truck, forklift, telephone, tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work including occasional heavy work; work involves walking and standing for periods of time; pushing, pulling, reaching and handling light to heavy objects; climbing steps or ladders.  Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to 100 pounds on occasion.


Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.


Interpersonal Communications: Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving assignments and/or directions to subordinates and receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisor.

Language Ability: Requires ability to read a variety of invoices, shipping and receiving reports, etc. Requires the ability to prepare inventory reports, maintenance records, timecards, etc. with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with poise, voice control and confidence.


Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Requires the ability to apply influence systems in managing personnel; to learn and understand relatively complex principles and techniques; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation. Must have the ability to comprehend and interpret received information.


Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow and give verbal and written instructions; to counsel and teach employees. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical languages including personnel, warehousing, and product terminology.


Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, to multiply and divide, to utilize mathematical formulas, to determine percentages and decimals and to determine time. 


Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape, and visually read various information.


Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes using office machinery; to operate motor vehicles.


Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, keyboards, office equipment, control knobs, buttons, switches, catches, tools, etc. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.


Color Discrimination: Requires the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.


Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines.


Physical Communications: Requires the ability to talk and hear: (talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words; hearing: perceiving nature of sounds by ear). Must be able to communicate via a telephone.
