Senior Software/Firmware Test Engineer


  • 12 Month Initial Contract
  • On-site - Santa Clara, CA
  • Pay Rate - $65 - $70/hour


Responsibilities:


  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to ensure software functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Document, track, and monitor software defects and issues in a bug tracking system.
  • Work closely with developers to understand software features, debug issues, and ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Re-test fixed defects and conduct regression testing to ensure that new changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools.
  • Evaluate software performance under varying loads and stress conditions.
  • Verify that the software complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.


Requirements:


  • 8+ years of experience in software test engineering.
  • Significant experience in test case automation for firmware or embedded software.
  • Proficiency in C, Python, and/or other test automation programming languages.
  • Experience in designing, developing, executing, and maintaining software tools and automated test suites to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Skilled in applying deductive and inductive problem-solving techniques.
  • Comfortable and experienced in communicating with large groups or high-level stakeholders.
