Overview


As the Offshore Supervisor of Well Testing and Flowback, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to well testing and flowback operations on offshore drilling rigs or platforms. Your role is crucial in ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful execution of well testing and flowback procedures, adhering to industry regulations and company standards. Through effective leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight, you will contribute to the achievement of project objectives and the optimization of oil and gas production.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Operational Oversight: Supervise and manage all aspects of well testing and flowback operations, including planning, execution, and evaluation of procedures to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technicians and operators involved in well testing and flowback activities, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure competency and compliance with operational protocols.
  3. Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and best practices to mitigate risks and prevent incidents during well testing and flowback operations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  4. Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and deployment of well testing and flowback equipment, including pressure control systems, separators, flow meters, and surface testing units, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  5. Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze well test data, flowback rates, and reservoir parameters to assess well productivity, reservoir characteristics, and overall performance. Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geoscientists to optimize production strategies and reservoir management practices.
  6. Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, technical issues, and operational challenges. Address client concerns promptly and proactively identify opportunities for improvement or optimization.
  7. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of well test data and flowback results. Conduct post-operation reviews and debriefings to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  8. Logistical Coordination: Coordinate logistics and resources for well testing and flowback operations, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and support services. Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize scheduling, transportation, and procurement activities.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and industry guidelines governing offshore drilling and production operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for regulatory reporting and audit purposes.


Qualifications


  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in well testing and flowback operations, with a focus on offshore environments.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Proficiency in well testing techniques, flowback procedures, and surface testing equipment commonly used in offshore operations.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations, environmental considerations, and industry best practices relevant to offshore drilling and production.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and operational requirements to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage risks and resolve issues in a dynamic offshore environment.
  • Willingness to work in remote offshore locations for extended periods, adhering to rotational schedules and shift patterns as required.
