Title: State and Local Tax Supervisor

Salary: $100,000 to $120,000, strong Bonus opportunity

Location: Shelton, CT


A highly successful global provider of valued customer solutions is seeking to hire a State and Local Tax Supervisor specializing in Accounting for Income Tax to play a key role in navigating the company through preparation and filing of state separate and combined corporate income and franchise tax returns for multiple domestic legal entities. Reporting directly to the Director of Tax, this is an exciting opportunity to provide meaningful tax preparation support on behalf of a highly regarded business sector leader.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities for the Supervisor State and Local Tax Assist will include the preparation and filing of state separate and combined corporate income and franchise tax returns for multiple domestic legal entities.
  • Researching various state and local tax matters as well as assisting with the tracking of state tax law changes.
  • Assisting with the preparation and filing of quarterly state income tax estimates and extensions.
  • Maintaining accurate state apportionment schedules and assisting with the state tax provision computation.
  • Supporting the resolution of state tax notices as well as interacting with state tax authorities.
  • Gathering data for various state income tax audit responses.
  • Performing corporate tax projects when needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting, CPA and/or MST preferred.
  • Public accounting experience desired.
  • 3 to 4 plus years’ experience in state income tax.
  • Tax research skills and an ability to take initiative on key issues.
  • OneSource Income Tax Experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
