The Production Engineer’s primary job functions is:


Responsible for Implementation and completion of quality improvements based on root cause and corrective actions related to all areas of the production process.

Responsible for Implementation and completion of continuous improvement projects focused on: yields, margins, and improve process flow utilizing Lean/6 Sigma tools.

Responsible for Managing change control in conjunction with Quality, Innovations, Engineering and Operations.



Essential Functions:

Execute and lead investigations of processing issues that directly impact quality, throughput, and yield.

Execute and lead projects with focus on continuous improvements.

Active Participant in Projects involving Quality, Innovations, Engineering and Operations.

Collect data, and perform data analysis and interpretation using statistical tools.

Implementation and completion of capital projects as needed, interfacing with external equipment vendors, engineering companies, and contractors as needed.

Provide operational and engineering assistance to Innovation as needed to facilitate new product development.

Work with Operations and Engineering to develop user requirements, functional specifications, equipment and product qualification protocols (IQ, OQ, and PQ), SOP's, and technical reports.

Ability to write in a concise fashion in order to document all pertinent data, develop plans, and present findings.

Provide training as needed and effectively communicate with operators, engineers, and supervisors on the proper use of equipment to support installations/modifications.

Execute and lead product and technology transfer between equipment. Includes managing related systems to maintain documents and QA control guidelines.

Understanding and ability to utilize company ERP system, Power BI reports, along with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Production related software.


Additional Responsibilities:


Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Job Specifications:


Bachelor of Science. Degree or higher in Engineering, preferably chemical, mechanical, or electrical.

Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing or industry setting preferred.

Must be flexible to work different shifts as required by assignments.

Computer literacy with good working knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Mini-Tab.

Uses procedures and skills, which require practical and scientific knowledge, to carry out assignments.

Conforms to Company policies and procedures, Quality Systems, cGMPs, ISO etc.

Knowledge of engineering principles, concepts and methodology and ability to apply them to relevant situations and problem solving.

Must be able to travel to customers, vendors, and sister companies as required.

Reactor, Mixing, Coating, Drying, Web Handling, Converting or Slitting experience are a plus.


Physical Demands & Hand Functions:

Physical exertion such as periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected; occasional lifting of moderately heavy items (objects over 50 pounds).

Use of computer, typing.


Environmental:

Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, and irritant chemicals; may be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks, uniforms, hairnets, gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, shields, etc.
