We currently have part time and full time vacancies in Groton, Ledyard and Waterford CT l to provide clinical services to students in our School-Based Health Centers.


This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

  • Implement philosophy and objectives of the Agency.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat clients according to current evidence based and/or best practice guidelines.
  • Independently conduct comprehensive assessments makes decisions, and plan client care.
  • Perform tasks independently, consulting with supervisory team and peers as needed.
  • Work with a diverse group of clientele.
  • Document sessions and summary in electronic medical record database within agency-specified timeframes.
  • Participate in general agency and model-specific training (including Risking Connection)
  • Report suspected child abuse and neglect in collaboration with supervisor within the 12-hour time frame (verbally) and 48-hour time frame (written)
  • Attend and participate in weekly supervision
  • Service Intensity: 1-2x week individual, group or family therapy
  • Engage caregivers & parents in treatment according to case formulation and treatment plan
  • Weekly group sessions if group therapy is part of client treatment plan
  • Hold parent-guidance sessions as clinically indicated
  • Meet productivity expectations as defined by the program leadership team
  • Complete thorough assessment and be able to diagnose using the DSM-5
  • Create treatment plans and documentation in collaboration with families · Complete worker and youth Ohio Scales at intake, each update, and discharge (or at least 90 days prior to discharge)
  • Will be trained in at least one or more Evidenced Based Practice (EBPs) and will use EBPs when clinically appropriate. Will fully complete all EBP related assessments and reoccurring measures.
  • Collaborate with school, clinical team, agency psychiatrists, primary care provider, and external agencies (i.e. DCF, past providers)
  • Participate in weekly case review and individual supervision with supervisor
  • Will achieve and maintain “Green” QA Level III status in regards to all chart documentation throughout employment
  • Will maintain 90% of billable expectation over the fiscal year
  • 70% of clients receiving mental health services through the SBHC for at least 3 months will demonstrate improved psychosocial functioning (per DPH/United Way contract)
  • 100% of referrals to the SBHC clinician will be reviewed within 30 days of initial referral
  • Will have properly documented client signature forms on all summary documentation 100% of the time

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Service or related field ​(MSW, Marriage & Family Counseling, MA in Counseling, Psychology, etc.
  • Mental Health / Counseling Experience (clinical internship)
  • Must be a licensed mental health counselor (​LMSW, PCa, MFTa, LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
