Database Administrator Specialist - Mongo

Position Overview:We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer responsible for cloud automation and database administration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves supporting 24x7 business-critical applications using analytical and transactional databases, particularly NOSQL (MongoDB), on cutting-edge Cloud and VMC platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in scripting and automating cloud database activities, troubleshooting database issues, performing performance analysis, ensuring database security, and developing/testing automation scripts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide DBA support for all aspects of database administration, including provisioning, backup/recovery, replication, deployment, and real-time production troubleshooting on MongoDB.
  • Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain databases in both production and non-production environments.
  • Offer 24x7 on-call DBA support for the production environment on a rotational schedule and as needed.
  • Support database deployment in Test and Production environments.
  • Diagnose and address database performance issues using performance monitors and various tuning techniques.
  • Collaborate with Systems Administrators on Linux/Unix/VM operating system issues related to databases.
  • Develop and maintain database provisioning, maintenance, and reporting cloud automation scripts.
  • Configure and maintain high availability for databases.
  • Support data replication and sharding.
  • Troubleshoot database production problems and connectivity issues.
  • Implement disaster recovery solutions.
  • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Cloud Development and Automation:

  • Utilize AWS services to develop and automate cloud-based solutions.
  • Implement and maintain automation scripts to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Leverage AWS Lambda for automation tasks such as database provisioning and deletion.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with MongoDB on-premises and Mongo Atlas.
  • Strong experience in Cloud Development using CloudFormation Templates (CFT).
  • Expertise in scripting with Ansible or Shell scripts.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and automation techniques.
