Amalgamated Research LLC (ARi) is seeking an Analytical Chemist or Laboratory Technologist to work at its research and development facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional, with strong attention to detail. They will conduct laboratory tests and processes with high accuracy and integrity, and process multiple types of samples utilizing varied methods and techniques. The successful candidate will provide analytical support to ARi’s process research and development activities (for internal research as well as customer projects) and carry out the development and validation of new methods, as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Conduct standardized tests using a variety of wet chemistry and instrument test methods. Instrumentation to be used includes chromatography (HPLC, IC and GC), spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, UV-VIS, AA and ICP-OES), particle size analysis, microscopy, autotitrators, pH / conductivity meters, polarimeter, refractometer and centrifuge.

· Assist in the development of novel analytical / instrumentation methods. Validate the accuracy and precision of developed analytical / instrumentation methods.

· Maintain accurate records of analytical activities.

· Assist with various laboratory duties related to testing and monitoring.

· Maintain laboratory equipment, work environment, supplies and glassware. Promote good housekeeping and laboratory safety.

· Facilitate chemical waste removal, ordering supplies and purchasing equipment.

· Have good written and verbal communication skills; read and understand verbal and written policies, procedures, safety and environmental requirements.

· Work efficiently, minimizing distractions and managing time to accomplish work by expected deadlines. Effectively balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in chemistry or a related field is required for appointment as an Analytical Chemist. Bachelors degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred for appointment as a Laboratory Technologist.

· Minimum of three years of practical experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

· Considerable knowledge of laboratory processes and regulations.

· Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
