Independent Contractor - Bookkeeper/Controller

About Nexagy, Inc.:

Nexagy provides fractional CFO, controller, and bookkeeping services to businesses, offering high-level financial management and strategic insights. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper/controller to join our remote team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping and accounting tasks using QuickBooks, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Reconcile accounts, including general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.


Skills and Requirements:

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and Dropbox.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality (NDA required).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must be available to work weekdays between 9 AM and 4 PM Eastern Time.
  • Applicants must be based in the Charlotte, NC area to accommodate in-person meetings and local business needs, despite the position being remote.


Compensation:

  • Competitive compensation based on experience with potential for increases based on experience and performance.


Additional Details:

  • Flexible hours within the required time window (9 AM - 4 PM ET, weekdays).
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently.
