Objective: The Senior Data Warehouse Consultant / Data Analyst will support data engineering and analysis tasks for the Integrated Justice System and Business Intelligence (BI) Platform Modernization projects. The role focuses on enhancing database systems, data modeling, and data transformation to ensure data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling: Create and manage IT data models (conceptual, logical, physical, and canonical) to support project requirements.
- Data Transformation: Design and implement data design and transformation procedures, frameworks for representing data elements, and resolve conflicts between data models.
- Database Management: Design, create, and maintain relational and dimensional databases and data systems. Recommend and implement improvements to data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
- System Enhancements: Enhance existing database systems to increase operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements.
- Data Processing: Design and create data processing systems that integrate core data sources into data repositories. Develop data migration scripts and automate data transformation processes.
- Data Quality: Maintain data repositories by adding, modifying, and deleting data as needed. Troubleshoot data issues and develop solutions to maintain data quality.
- Analytics and Reporting: Implement statistical models to identify trends and patterns in data sets. Design analytical dashboards and reports, mine and analyze multiple data sets for insights.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data mapping, technical specifications, data dictionaries, test cases, and more.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Data Modeling: 3+ years of experience in relational database modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Tools Expertise: 6-7 years of experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI Report Server, Power BI Service, SSMS.
- Data Modeling Tools: 1 year of experience with Quest Erwin or similar data modeling tools.
- Database Management: Proven experience in designing, creating, and maintaining databases and data systems.
- Data Transformation: Strong experience in developing data transformation and automation processes.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in statistical models, data cleansing, filtering, and trend analysis.
Desired Qualifications:
- Dimensional Database Modeling: Experience with dimensional modeling techniques.
- Data Vault 2.0: Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 methodology and architecture.
- Advanced Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Storage, ADLS GEN 2, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure AI Document Intelligence.
- Oracle RDBMS: Experience with Oracle RDBMS.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
