Position Overview

The Real Estate Asset Manager will manage the balance sheet portfolio while actively participating in the acquisition of new real estate investments. The role focuses on maximizing financial performance, optimizing operations, and supporting investment strategies aligned with market trends and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both asset management and acquisitions.


Key Responsibilities

 

Portfolio Management & Asset Oversight

  • Manage a portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties, ensuring financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value.
  • Conduct financial reviews, including operating budgets, cash flow analysis, and variance reports, to enhance property performance.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to address operational issues and implement best practices.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure properties adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare and present reports on property performance, financial metrics, and operational status to senior management and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Maintain relationships with investors, developers, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
  • Incorporate sustainable strategies into asset management and acquisitions.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, investor literature, and marketing materials for internal and external use.

Acquisitions & Investment Pipeline Management

  • Organize the team’s investment pipeline, tracking potential opportunities in targeted markets.
  • Research and produce sophisticated underwriting and financial modeling for potential acquisitions, including property-level cash flows, market research, rental and sales comp analysis.
  • Coordinate the due diligence process, including reviewing third-party reports, business plans, leases, market surveys, and tenant credit analysis.
  • Assist in all aspects of the deal process: market research, underwriting, preparing IC memos and presentations, due diligence, and closing.

Market Research & Reporting

  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of U.S. real estate markets and submarkets to inform investment decisions and strategies.
  • Analyze and abstract complex legal real estate documentation, including leases, loan agreements, mortgage documents, partnership agreements, and corporate financial statements.
  • Prepare detailed analyses and reports on market trends and investment opportunities for acquisitions meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, or portfolio management
  • Strong skills in financial modeling, underwriting, and cash flow analysis; experience with Microsoft Excel and Argus.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. real estate markets, submarkets, and investment trends.
  • Ability to read, abstract, and analyze legal real estate-related documents, such as leases, financing agreements, and partnership contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in real estate valuation or modeling.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
