Technical Writer

Aware, Inc., is looking for a creative and collaborative Technical Writer who understands technology concepts and loves translating complex technical information into relatable content. As a Technical Writer at Aware. Inc., you will collaborate with the product, engineering, and marketing teams to produce high-quality documentation, including user guides, API, SDK, systems configuration guides, whitepapers, and software release notes for various products and projects. With the product team, you will collaborate with engineering teams to document the functionality of the Aware products, support on-going updates, and create a library of product content to drive the sales, solutioning, and implementation of the Aware product portfolio. Additionally, this individual will help production marketing with the information on the solutions for GTM activities.

What will you do?

• Absorb raw technical information from diverse sources and communicate it clearly. Sources may include meetings with engineers, rough sketches, verbal descriptions, specification documents, recorded demonstrations, and hands-on system use. 
• Translate/synthesize sophisticated technical data into clear insights and stories consumable by the customers and sales team.
• Produce high-quality product documentation that guides the customer on various applications, including user guides, API, SDK, systems configuration guides, whitepapers, software release notes, and architecture diagrams. 
• Work closely with various teams to prioritize key deliverables that support sales and customers directly.
• Assess existing documentation to proactively identify and address gaps.

Requirements

• Proven three (3)+ years’ experience in technical writing of software documentation
• Demonstrated focus on achieving outcomes with an excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent overall writing skills to create easy-to-follow content.
• Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
• Experience authoring API documentation using API documentation tools (e.g., Spotlight, Readme) is an asset.
