Position: Lead Technical Analyst (Contract)

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid: 3 days in office)

Duration: 6-month contract (Temp to Hire)

The Panther Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Technical Analyst to support one of our retail partners in a key migration project. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in transitioning legacy systems to a modern Oracle-based platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record in leading technical teams through complex system migrations. This is a hybrid role based in Dallas, TX, requiring 3 days in the office per week. Please note, the position does not support Visa sponsorship or third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership in System Migration:

  • Lead the Mainframe team as it transitions from the current AS/400 and .NET environment to an Oracle-based platform, playing a critical role in understanding, documenting, and addressing legacy system capabilities and their future replacements.

Business and Technical Alignment:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and developers to bridge the gap between business requirements and technology solutions, ensuring new system integrations are aligned with business objectives. Document and analyze data flows, system processes, and interdependencies to facilitate smooth migration.

Data Migration and Application Rationalization:

  • Apply expertise in data migration, ETL processes, and data cleansing to ensure data integrity during system transitions. Drive application rationalization by identifying redundant or nonessential applications and documenting existing functionalities.

Agile Methodology and Process Improvement:

  • Lead efforts to transition the team from a ticket-centric operations model to a Kanban-based approach, fostering collaboration across multiple portfolios and improving overall team efficiency. Act as the point of contact for other teams working with legacy system interfaces to ensure seamless integration with new platforms.

Documentation and Analysis:

  • Utilize MS Excel for data analysis and MS Word for documenting system processes, data flows, and change requests. Proficiently diagram current and future system architectures, ensuring clear communication of system inputs, outputs, and expected results.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years as a Lead Technical Analyst or Systems Engineer, with a strong background in working with Mainframe systems. Experience in system migrations and application rationalization is essential.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new systems and environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and MS Word for documentation.
  • Experience with data migration and ETL processes.
  • Ability to diagram and document system data flows, inputs/outputs, and dependencies.
  • Adept at working in an Agile/Scrum environment and comfortable with Kanban team structures.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level stakeholders and technical teams.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with the retail industry, including knowledge of trends, applications, and best practices.
  • Experience working in a hybrid team environment with a focus on collaboration across diverse teams.
