We are seeking a Quality Engineer with expertise in metal fabrication to join our client’s metals manufacturing team. The ideal candidate should have experience in low to mid-volume production environments, focusing on processing fabricated assemblies.


Must Haves:

  • 6 plus years’ experience in a low to mid-volume metal parts manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma/Lean training; Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with bills of materials and MRP systems.
  • Experience with basic inspection equipment, including CMMs, height gauges, and micrometers.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Excel for data analysis and charting.
  • Experience with machining, stamping, welding, and metal forming using press brake equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to implement continuous improvement programs.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering on APQP activities for new programs.
  • Prepare sample submission packages (PPAP) with project engineers, plant operations, and QC technicians.
  • Develop effective part validation procedures by reviewing GD&T, KPCs, and gauging methodology.
  • Coordinate tooling run-offs and collect statistical data to produce CPK indicators.
  • Maintain and update FMEAs, process flow diagrams, and control plans to uphold quality standards.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
