Position Overview

KC Jones Plating Company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Quality Engineer with a strong focus on driving continuous improvement within our operations. This role is integral to advancing our quality standards and processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Quality Engineer will collaborate across teams, work on the shop floor, and engage directly with production to identify, implement, and sustain quality improvements. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hazel Park, MI.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the company, focusing on product quality and process efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and Local Process Audits (LPAs) to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, create reports, and identify trends for improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions, preventive measures, and process improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead problem-solving efforts to resolve quality issues.
  • Engage in visual management practices to monitor and communicate performance metrics and improvement progress.
  • Support shop floor activities, working closely with production staff to ensure quality standards are met, and improvements are sustained.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement through strong communication and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, IATF, etc.).


Qualifications

  • Strong background in Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Excel with demonstrated experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with writing and implementing standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Visual management and presentation skills to clearly convey quality metrics and improvement actions.
  • Not afraid to work in a hands-on, shop-floor environment.
