Project Development Manager (Software Development)

Optomi, in partnership with one of the leading innovative resources for technology solutions within the transportation industry, is seeking a Project Development Manager for their Cary, North Carolina location. Candidates must have a passion for leadership along with an extensive background in software development. This Project Development Manager must have a thorough understanding of what it takes to properly manage a team of software developers in an agile environment in order to ensure that their team is executing their projects along with accomplishing their project goals. This Project Development Manager will have the distinguished honor of working for a company that has built a brand that stands on its own while simultaneously optimizing their employee needs along the way

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Extensive background in Java development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another related field.
  • Experience serving as a Software Engineering Manager / Team Lead.
  • 8+ years of Software Development.
  • Experience with Agile, SCRUM preferred.
  • PMP certification is a preferred.
  • Agile certification is preferred.
  • Ability to be an active problem-solver
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Experience leading both onshore and offshore development teams.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload while also balancing fast-moving project deadlines.
  • Full development life cycle understanding.
  • Knowledgeable of cloud technologies (AWS or Azure preferred.)
  • Ability to manage and communicate with both internal and external teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong communication skills and planning management.
  • Technical expertise and the ability to code in a Java environment.
  • Ability to conduct code reviews.

  • Managing deliverables and delivering projects on time.
  • Be involved in business development requirement stages as well as post implementation activities.
  • Planning and execution of project goals.
  • Gathering requirements.
  • Project portfolio management.
  • Create project plans.
  • Manage budgets and timelines.
  • Adhere to project methodologies and be involved in release planning.
  • Budget forecasting across multiple projects.
  • Be involved in the design, development, integration, and support of software products and systems.
  • Be an ongoing support to team members.
  • Partnering with business team to communicate project goals for the overall betterment of the company and business.
