Title: Data Architect – FX (foreign exchange)

Type: 2-3-year contract

Location: Hybrid - (mostly remote with travel to Chicago as needed)

Comp: $85-$100/hr


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Architect with a background in Foreign Exchange (FX) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and mapping out data flows within our FX systems, ensuring seamless integration and data architecture across platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of data structures, databases, and message flows. The role will also involve working with technologies such as Calleo OMS, Spectrum in the front office (with feedback loops from Broadridge and Murex), and Salesforce, which is used for managing customer data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Flow Mapping: Design and architect the flow of data between various systems, including Calleo OMS, Spectrum, Broadridge, Murex, and Salesforce, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and security.
  • FX Domain Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Foreign Exchange (FX) to deliver tailored solutions for the business.
  • Data Architecture: Develop and implement data architectures that support the management, storage, and transfer of large data sets across FX trading platforms.
  • Message Structures: Define and refine message structures to ensure smooth data exchange between internal and external systems, including front and back-office systems.
  • Database Management: Oversee database design and optimization, particularly within SQL databases, to meet the growing needs of the FX business.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and business stakeholders, to deliver scalable and robust data solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Data Proficiency: Strong knowledge of data flows, database management, message structures, and architecture, with specific experience in integrating tools like Calleo OMS, Spectrum, Broadridge, Murex, and Salesforce.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in relational databases, message-oriented middleware, system architecture, and SQL database management.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze and optimize data structures for performance and efficiency, particularly in FX trading environments.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FX Domain Expertise: experience working in the FX domain, understanding the nuances and complexities of foreign exchange markets.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with key FX trading platforms and technologies, including Calleo OMS, Spectrum, Broadridge, Murex, and Salesforce.
