The Field Services Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure in the field. This position ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, networks, and related procedures adhere to organizational processes, controls, and goals. The ideal candidate embraces flexibility, is open-minded, and prioritizes solutions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Travel to field offices to install, maintain, and repair hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Requires cabling, rack cabling, setting up small server rooms, and wireless access point (AP) installation in an office environment.
  • Perform hardware support and maintenance such as upgrades, patches, etc.
  • Be involved in technical project planning and implementation for all offices.
  • Ensure system administration, functionality, security, compliance, and maintenance.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with IT Team in aligning department vision with business goals and strategies of company.
  • Be involved with initiating new procedures and plans for the company’s IT infrastructure with direction from management.
  • Maintain high level of customer service to contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.


Job Requirements:

  • Team minded and technology focused.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
  • BA/BS, preferably in computer science or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of IT or related experience.

OR

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and implementing systems infrastructure. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of SMB and mid market infrastructure and equipment.
  • Extensive experience with Windows desktop and networking experience.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel and work weekends with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to drive for long distances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work on problems of diverse scope.
  • Assist and support customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal and external associates, and management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with customers.
  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs. and walking at least a mile.
  • Must have COVID-19 Vaccination
  • A+ certifications in Computer and Networking or better.

Required Proficiencies:

Modern Windows Desktop and Server platforms, Macs, Active Directory, Group Policy, Advanced Networking (HP and Cisco Switch Configurations, VLAN, VPN, NAT, Routing, Wireless), Exchange, SQL, StorageCraft, SAN, Citrix, VMware, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telecommunications, Hyper-V, O365, Azure, and other MS Cloud, SaaS (managed by outside vendors) and Hosted Solutions.

Preferred Experience:

Working with ConnectWise RMM (Agent Procedures, Audit, Discovery, Monitor), ConnectWise PSA (Ticket workflow), Egnyte, Office 365 Admin (PowerShell), G Suite Admin, Google Cloud Admin, Mimecast, Bitdefender, Unitrends, Axcient, Fortinet, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Duo, Okta, LastPass .
