Job Title: Controls/Programming Engineer

Division: Construction

Department: Controls / New Equipment Build

Reports to: Senior Construction Manager

Status: Overtime Exempt

General Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday – Friday (additional hours to support as required)


Summary:

Uses knowledge of PLC programming and Knowledge of electrical controls to perform the essential duties and responsibilities to support New Equipment Build as outlined below to produce the highest quality part at the lowest cost. Additional duties may be assigned. Work will be accomplished in adherence to all policies set forth by the company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Utilize specific skills to support Divisional/Departmental Business plan objectives (refer to business plan objectives)

• Compliance to existing quality systems (i.e. TS and ISO)

• Develops and Implements control systems for production equipment.

• Performs process work related to production preparation projects. Supports pre - production events including necessary travel.

• Support actions related to customer concerns as directed.

• Technical support to manufacturing for Controls related problem solving may be required.

• Meet cost savings objectives related to specific area of expertise.

• Provide effective cross-divisional communication and scheduling of projects.


Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

• Associate’s degree in electrical discipline or three to four years related experience and or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• PLC programming competency is required – Ability to write, troubleshoot, and understand ladder logic

• Ability to design and implement controls systems for new equipment.

• Competency in the use of Information Systems Tools to understand and maintain business objectives.

• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
