Fast growing apparel company is looking for a passionate and detail oriented Technical Designer with a strong background in women’s apparel to join our team The ideal candidate is well versed across product categories and has experience in both knits and wovens. Sweater experience a plus. Role will report to the Head of Technical Design.


Responsibilities:

Partner with the design team, the Senior Technical Designer and cross functional partners to establish and maintain fit consistency in the women’s category. Problem solve any fit or construction issues to ensure the design intent is met and preserved through the product life cycle.


Daily tasks include:

 Build development Tech Packs: create initial specs and construction callouts for new style development 

 Anticipate and review any fit or construction issues or concerns

 Review samples against the development Tech Packs to ensure specs and construction details are followed correctly, measure samples prior to each fitting

 Maintain the Fit List and own scheduling of weekly fittings 

 Attend weekly fittings and communicate fit comments to overseas, keeping record of fit/style history current in the Tech Packs

 Work with production team to prioritize fit samples by delivery or importance foreach fitting

 Use sketches and images to clearly communicate corrections to a garment or pattern, utilizing Adobe Illustrator

 Make corrections to factory’s patterns as necessary

 Enforce company grade rules and tolerances

 Establish new grades when necessary

 Finalize Tech Packs for production to ensure all details are correct


Other Tasks Include:

 Maintain the database of POMs and Grade Rules

 Create and maintain a How to Measure Guide

 Monitor calendar deadlines and sample tracking


Requirements: 

 Bachelor’s in Fashion Design/Technical Design or related field

 Must be a team player with a positive can do attitude

 Knowledge of fabrics, trims and sewing operations

 Pattern making knowledge & grading experience 

 Experience communicating with overseas vendors/factories 

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

 Expertise in Excel, experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, and Google Drive a plus
