The Site Turnaround/Outage Manager is responsible for leading flawless execution and continuous improvement of Bishop maintenance outages across the site’s operating units. These include annual chemical unit outages, as well as bi-monthly polymer unit outages and utility unit outages. These outages are typically 5-7 days in duration, and include a combination of planned preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as integration of capital projects into the outage schedules. This role is responsible for the overall planning, scheduling and execution of outage maintenance work. Overall KPIs include outage stewardship performance, schedule compliance, and actual cost versus forecast.


  • Champions outage management process and culture to achieve flawless outage execution, aligned with overall manufacturing objectives across stewardship, quality, reliability and engagement
  • Maintains site-outage schedule to ensure coordination and alignment of unit operating plans and resources
  • Drives best-in-class, cost-effective outage execution of planned and corrective maintenance work by championing adherence to outage and maintenance work process
  • Proactively identifies maintenance outage process gaps and opportunities through data analysis of KPIs and metrics to enable continuous improvement in collaboration with site stakeholders
  • Coaches and develops team members to improve team performance
  • Collaborates with Reliability Program Owner, maintenance team and units on development of outage scope (inspections, testing, PMs, corrective work)
  • Manages adherence to outage management process, including scope freeze and appeal process, to ensure schedule and forecasted spend targets are met
  • Drives continuous improvement of outage execution, including networking within and outside the enterprise to share and adopt best practices, including digitalization opportunities


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) preferred
  • 7 years experience in petrochemical, refining, or polymer plant maintenance, or project management, including prior experience coordinating contract resources, including specialty contractors.

  • Outage Management: must be adept at managing complex outages within tight timeframes. Has solid understanding of outage management methodologies, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
