As Assistant Construction Superintendent (ACS), you will assist the Lead Construction Superintendent (LCS) in the managing of building projects and supervise the day-to-day activities involved with constructing a new structure or renovation while assessing the resources needed to complete the assigned construction project and manage its onsite staff. You will collaborate with the Project Manager overseeing all aspects of the construction process and ensure that projects are monitored from planning to completion. Further, follow quality standards to ensure the safety and security of the construction area, the liaison between the construction contractors, the relocation team and property management, during construction.


Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Lead Construction Superintendent (LCS) with all the activities of a construction site and each project the LCS oversees.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of site logistics plan, in coordination with the project team
  • Assisting in the management of project permit process
  • Aiding in managing a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
  • Assisting in the managing and overseeing the requisition process to ensure work completed coincide with billing
  • Point person assisting with the coordination of materials and equipment delivery, with vendors and suppliers
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the projects daily log and weekly reporting to Project Executives
  • Attending onsite project meetings/ calls
  • Helping the project team guide the design team (Architect and Engineer) to ensure quality and constructability are achievable
  • Attending punch-list walks and manage completion process
  • Helping to complete permit and project close-out
  • Performing site walk-throughs with Owners/Partners as needed
  • Performing other related duties as required


Requirements:

  • Effective leadership abilities and conflict management
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills, attention to details, excellent communication abilities, including writing, active listening and soft skills
  • Understanding construction/building equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
  • A mature professional with excellent judgment
  • A highly entrepreneurial, self – motivated and results-oriented individual
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, vendors and associates
  • Adhere to tight deadlines and quick turnaround for deliverables
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment where adaptability is imperative
  • Accurate with a strong attention to detail
  • In-depth understating of local, state, and federal construction regulations
  • Superintendents Licenses preferred but not required
  • Site Safety Licenses i.e. OHSA 30 etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Xcel, Project and Bluebeam viewed favorably
  • Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or on-the-job training, viewed favorably
