Role: Director of Warehouse and Distribution


Location: Carlsbad, CA. with new HQ under construction in Oceanside, CA.


Position Summary

§  MUNICIPAL is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our warehouse and distribution operations. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in shaping our supply chain strategy and driving operational excellence. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of success in scaling fast-paced, high-growth retail environments. Your expertise in logistics, warehouse management, and process optimization will be essential in building a world-class distribution network that supports our rapid expansion.

Key Responsibilities

§  Develop and execute a long-term warehouse and distribution strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.

§  Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, customer compliance, shipping, receiving, and returns processing.

§  Lead and manage a high-performance warehouse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee development.

§  Collaborate with our 3PL to optimize warehouse layout, staffing, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

§  Implement and manage warehouse KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.

§  Drive process innovation and automation to enhance productivity and accuracy.

§  Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, and finance to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

§  Manage the warehouse budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.

§  Oversee the relocation of the warehouse, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.


Requirements

§  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or experience equivalent.

§  Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse and distribution management, with a strong emphasis on retail or e-commerce.

§  Proven track record of successfully leading warehouse relocations and implementing operational improvements.

§  Expert-level proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and warehouse management software.

§  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.

§  Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

§  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

§  Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

§  Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

§  Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
