Role: Middle Office Analyst
Client: Large Financial Client
Duration: 6mo+ contract
Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC
Requirements:
o 5-7 year of experience of data analysis, testing data integrity and implementing controls
o Global Market or Corporate Treasury platforms
o Extensive knowledge of derivatives (OTC, Cleared and ETD) and how new activity and daily market moves impact the associated collateral positions
o Ability to understand and explain PNL movements and substantiate data to the Balance Sheet / General Ledger
o Experience with providing reporting for regulatory reporting, submitting data for senior level management reporting, or similar types of reporting
o Innovative team player who can generate new and creative ideas to complex problems
o Advanced Excel or SQL skills
o Fixed income, securities, settling bonds
o Margin movements
o Cash and collateral management and middle office experience
Job Description:
Traded Products- Derivatives Focus Subject Matter Expert. The position will require extensive ad hoc research and commentary for daily outliers impacting regulatory reporting. Successful candidates will partner with Technology and the LOBs to ensure data accuracy and completeness, identify data gaps, and work closely with business partners to define strategies for technical solutions. Work closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts serve customer needs. Works under minimal supervision on enterprise-wide projects requiring creative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
•Candidate will assist in the day-to-day maintenance, build-out and development of Derivatives and Collateral Corporate Treasury infrastructure and control framework.
• Manage current state assessment of legacy data warehouses and applications with an eye towards migration to target state
• Perform daily attribution recons for derivatives and collateral positions across multiple platforms and products
• Liaise with Corporate Treasury LOBs and Technology Teams to provide commentary of material differences
• Work with internal business lines to support ongoing initiative work and ad hoc research requests
• Test new data populations as they are added to the reporting database
• Enhance existing controls to address changes to data populations
• Assist in development of strategy / approach for DM Process Documentation project
• Will support ad hoc initiatives and projects for CFO Data Management
•Ensure the info that comes from trading systems into liquidity reporting is accurate
•Data validation – if there is a break we go upstream to see if a trader booked something wrong, the trade platform hit an error, coordinate w/ other teams, leverage data to figure out where the trade break was
•End of month reconcilliation of transactional data. Tying out to ledger and global markets finance
•Grow secured finance coverage.
• We look at global markets transaction data - operations in middle office on many trades daily.
•Fixed income would be ideal
•Will use SQL but will be trained on this if needed
•Product knowledge is most important - need the trade experience.
Relevant products: Repo, reverse repo, prime brokerage, stock borrow and stock loan, how security sells and how companies understand how global markets fund them
