Position Overview

We seek an experienced Structural Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, and licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). This position involves leading engineering calculations, system layouts, and design following established policies, codes, and standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to make independent decisions, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality designs that meet client requirements.



Key Responsibilities


Design & Engineering

  • Perform engineering calculations and design layouts for systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve project-related problems and conflicts independently.
  • Review preliminary and final engineering designs with other disciplines for functionality, clearances, coordination, and compliance.
  • Prepare and oversee the creation of complete construction documents that align with client and project requirements.


Project Leadership & Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to define design scope, schedule, budget, and project requirements.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours and assist in preparing design budgets and schedules.
  • Assign tasks to designers and supervise efforts to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Perform final reviews of engineering drawings and provide quality assurance in coordination with technical managers or project engineers.


Client & Team Interaction

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, educating them on design and project requirements.
  • Mentor and motivate junior engineering designers (Levels I, II, and III) to foster their professional growth.
  • Set high standards of professional integrity and prioritize the best interests of both the company and the client.


Skills & Reporting

  • Utilize AutoCAD, REVIT, and other engineering modeling tools to create accurate and efficient designs.
  • Research and prepare reports/opinions related to projects.
  • Provide leadership to ensure projects meet fast-paced deadlines without compromising quality.



Required Qualifications


Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.


Experience: Minimum of 8 years of work experience in structural engineering.


Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).


Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of discipline-specific codes and other building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Critical thinking and active listening.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in time management and decision-making.
  • Leadership skills to mentor team members and guide clients.
  • Proficiency in engineering modeling tools and equipment selection.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and handle stressful, fast-paced environments.
  • Capable of multitasking and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime (40+ hours) as needed.
