Quick Facts:


The Eisner Health Dentist will diagnose and treat problems with teeth and tissues in the mouth, giving advice and administering care to help prevent future problems. They provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care. They remove tooth decay, fill cavities, examine x-rays, place protective plastic sealants on children's teeth, and straighten and repair fractured teeth. They also perform a deep cleaning on gums and supporting bones to treat gum diseases. Dentists extract teeth and make models and measurements for dentures to replace missing teeth. They also administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications. The mobile team dentist will primarily work from the dental mobile unit.


This position requires complete understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with the core values of EISNER HEALTH. The employee shall support EISNER HEALTH’S strategic plan, goals, and direction of the performance improvement plan. As part of the dental mobile Team, the incumbent will help support any outreach coordinated events, promoting oral health. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations, including, but not limited to, Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care, and EISNER HEALTH initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Educates patients on oral health care.
  2. Examines teeth and diagnoses patients' dental conditions using tools such as X-rays.
  3. Assesses treatment options and confirms treatment plans with patients;
  4. Carries out clinical treatments, such as treating gum disease, restoring teeth affected by decay, and other services as needed.
  5. Recording of Patient’s Progress, Procedures, and Other Matters.
  6. Maintains patients' dental records;
  7. Completes continuing education courses as required by state licensing standards.
  8. Compliance with Productivity and Documentation Standards.
  9. Supervision- In the clinic, the physician is expected to provide supervision and consultation to mid-level providers, interns, students, and healthcare providers in training as needed.
  10. Participates in EISNER HEALTH’S “Peer Review” program and provides an objective assessment of peers.
  11. You may be required to participate in Eisner’s mobile clinic, which would require you to take on rotating shifts as required. During a mobile clinic shift, you will travel to local off-site locations/partners with Dental Assistants.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. A degree in Dentistry from an accredited School of Dentistry.
  2. Minimum one (1) year of experience in general dentistry.
  3. Current DEA License and CPR Certification required.
  4. Timely completion of continuing education required by state licensing requirements.
  5. Proficient in English and Spanish preferred.
