Position Purpose:

As a Dentist at JWCH, Wesley Wealth Centers, you will provide preventive and primary dental care consistent with the Dentist’s training and experience in a community health clinic setting to patients of the clinic. This role will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve the oral health of the community while ensuring a high standard of care.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough dental exams, diagnose conditions, and prescribe or administer appropriate treatments in line with clinical protocols and guidelines.
  2. Perform or oversee procedures such as exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and crowns, and make referrals to specialists as needed.
  3. Deliver high-quality dental care, addressing patient concerns and developing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  4. Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
  5. Design and implement community outreach programs to enhance dental health awareness and accessibility.
  6. Maintain precise and comprehensive patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  7. Ensure records comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
  8. Partner with healthcare professionals, including medical staff and social workers, to provide integrated care and support for patients' overall health and well-being.
  9. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality standards.
  10. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques.
  11. Participate in community events and health fairs to raise awareness of dental health and expand access to care.
  12. Accurately document all patient interactions and treatments in dental records.
  13. Complete patient referrals and other required paperwork as needed.
  14. Travel as necessary to meet operational needs and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Dental Officer to support organizational goals and objectives.
  15. Continuously update skills and knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
  16. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and clinic regulations and protocols related to dentistry.
  17. Oversee Dental Department compliance with infection control and safety guidelines.
  18. Collaborate with support staff, the lead provider, and the Clinic Administrator to achieve efficiency, satisfaction, and productivity goals.

Requirements:

  1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
  2. Current and valid dental license in CA.
  3. 1-2 years of experience in clinical dentistry, preferably in a community health or underserved setting.
  4. Strong clinical skills with the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of dental issues.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  7. Current DEA Certificate.
  8. Current CPR/BLS Certification from American Heart Association
  9. Ability to travel from site to site as needed.
  10. Experience in working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural background.
  11. Experience with Next-Gen/EDR or Dentrix is preferred.
  12. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

If you become a JWCH provider, you may be able to participate in Loan Repayment Program. A majority of our clinics are NHSC approved sites. The National Health Service Corp may be accepting applications Loan Repayment Program awards. The program is open to licensed primary care medical, dental, and mental and behavior health providers who are employed or have accepted an offer of employment at an NHSC-approved site. Awardees receive up to $50,000 in exchange for two years of service if they practice in a HPSA of 14 above (Tier I). Awardees can also receive up to $30,0000 in exchange for two years of service if they practice in a HPSA of 13 and below (Tier II). You will need to contact National Health Service Corp to apply and receive more information. Upon acceptance, you are encouraged to apply to National Health Service Corp for Loan Repayment Program.
