Sapient Logic is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager/Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, and business development, and a deep understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD)market. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex projects, and a proven track record of securing new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple IT/software development projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project performers and stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
2. Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the DoD industry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the DoD and related government agencies.
- Prepare and present proposals, capability statements, and presentations to potential clients.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Build teaming relationships with other companies in the DoD industry.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategic business plans and marketing strategies.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to provide project updates and gather feedback.
- Address and resolve any client issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant DoD regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to clients and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and business development within the DoD or government contracting space.
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, regulations, and standards.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT/software development projects.
- Demonstrated ability to secure new business opportunities and build strong client relationships. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
