Our client is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to improve their current process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity throughout their manufacturing facility for new and existing electronic and electro-mechanical products. To be successful in this role, candidates should have creative problem-solving and analytical skills as well as proven Engineering and Manufacturing expertise to provide innovative solutions to engineering and manufacturing problems. Candidates should have strong foundational knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly such as machining, tooling, fixturing, and materials that will allow for the best practices in providing process improvements.
Responsibilities for this role will include refining and enhancing processes by applying Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will specify equipment upgrades and prepare cost estimates as well as justifications for new or modified equipment to allow for process improvement, provide project oversight with all associated training, and identify and implement solutions for issues relating to safety and quality as they relate to the manufacturing process.
Required Background
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline along with 5+ years of experience in industry
- Experience including electro-mechanical assemblies or printed circuit board manufacturing is preferred.
- Proven record of process improvement, lean manufacturing, plant and equipment layout, work simplification, and methods improvement (Six Sigma experience).
- Working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and material handling; i.e. ERP systems such as Visual, SAP, Dynamics AX, or similar
- Proficient in SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
