Role description:

Reporting to our Marketing and Brand Manager, the Marketing Assistant will be motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and possess excellent copywriting skills, along with a desire to enhance their professional experience and lay the foundation for career growth. Key areas of focus for this role will include trade show organization and coordination, local event coordination and assistance, general marketing and communications support, project management and copywriting across business initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Trade Show organization and coordination;
  • Planning and marketing local in-office events and fundraisers with our team and community partners;
  • Fundraiser and event recaps + tracking; 
  • Brand marketing support;
  • Social media planning + coordination; 
  • Copywriting for eblasts, social media and other marketing materials as needed;
  • Product marketing materials organization and dissemination to press and digital partners;
  • Various product curation opportunities with online partners and platforms;
  • Keyword and other creative marketing opportunities within our Amazon Storefront;
  • Mailings and other marketing admin tasks.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in marketing, publishing marketing preferred;
  • Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to support events
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially with event planning and organization. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Detail-oriented, strong execution skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize;
  • The ability to move for extended periods of time and to transport up to 20 lbs;
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and proficiency with Google Suite, Outlook and related programs. 
  • A positive attitude and infectious excitement for children’s books and Barefoot’s mission
