POSITION SUMMARY:
Optimize manufacturing efficiency by translating customer orders into detailed production plans. Leverage experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and replenishment systems to analyze and interpret data related to materials, production capacity, and lead times. Ensure resource optimization, minimal downtime, and on-time product delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with overall business objectives. Monitor schedules, make necessary adjustments, and proactively address capacity constraints. Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of quality products in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Production Planning: ·
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive production plan based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain system reports to analyze and interpret data related to materials, production capacity, plan to actual reports, and lead times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering/R&D, Supply Chain, and Logistics, to align production schedules with overall business objectives.
Scheduling:
- Create detailed production schedules. Consider production capacity, resource availability, machine constraints, and internal/external customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, customer drop-in requests, supply chain disruptions, unplanned absences, or equipment breakdowns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional areas to identify capacity constraints and develop/implement risk mitigation plans.
Replenishment Magnet System:
- Provide Ownership and oversight of Magnet Replenishment System. Ensure bin quantities align with customer orders, forecasted demand, and optimal work-in-process inventory levels based on Primary Operations and prior work cell lead times.
- Implement strategies to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the replenishment magnet system.
Capacity Planning:
- Conduct regular capacity planning assessments to ensure production capabilities align with demand forecasts.
- Provide recommendations for capacity expansion or improvements to meet future production requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize unplanned downtime.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and scheduling.
- Generate reports and analyses to assess the effectiveness of planning strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate performance metrics to relevant stakeholders and propose corrective actions as needed.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of manufacturing experience
- Three to five years of planning and scheduling experience
- Three to five years of advanced planning using Excel with SQL connections and Power Query
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Skills:
- Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Proficiency in using MRP systems and replenishment magnet systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)
Proven experience in manufacturing planning and scheduling, preferably in a complex, fast-paced environment
