Seattle based design firm with an established reputation for innovative and strategic thinking has a need for a Project Manager to join the firm’s office in downtown Seattle. The firm practices in numerous project types including workplace, commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and product design. The firm rewards an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative attitude, and a business-minded perspective.   


General Firm Expectations and desired skillset/knowledge base:


• Leadership - the ability to inspire and guide the project team by taking charge and making decisions when necessary.

• Communication Skills - clearly articulating ideas and project goals to team members, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to present ideas and strategies quickly, thoughtfully, and concisely. The ability to generate graphically appealing, managerially oriented materials is critical.

• Organizational skills: efficiently manage project timelines and deadlines, keeping track of project phases and tasks in a work plan.

• Problem-solving with the ability to adapt to unexpected project challenges as they arise.

• Client relations - building and maintaining positive relationships with clients by addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with our level of service.

• Team collaboration: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment by recognizing and utilizing team members' strengths.

• Risk management - identifying potential risks and working with leadership to develop strategies to mitigate them.

• Budget/cost management: Financial management of the project budget and allocation of resources within budget constraints.

• Marketing – familiarity with and ability to participate in RFP responses, interviews, after-hours events, etc. as deemed suitable.

• Design – ability to plan, direct, and coordinate architectural and interior design efforts. Ability to have holistic perspective on and sensitivity to considerations of space, systems, materials, color, texture, lighting, and furniture.

• Programming – knowledge of programming techniques and ability to implement them with client and end-user groups.

• Documentation: Strong knowledge of construction document production, consultant coordination, and detailing. Ability to direct (and assist when necessary) production activities.

• Construction – knowledge of the construction process and ability to independently provide clear direction during the CA phase. 

• Finishes and Furniture – knowledge of and/or sensitivity to incorporating these components into the project process. 


  • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to oversee and manage architectural projects from conception to completion effectively.


Candidate Qualifications:

• Minimum of B.S. or B.A. in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture and 5-10 years of related professional experience.

• Proven management experience in similar project types and sizes and team structures

• Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office suite (including Project) and general knowledge and ability to use Revit, AutoCAD, and In-Design are preferable.
