Summary: In the area of Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA); Provides excellent team leadership in problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions. Ensures incoming materials and products manufactured meet minimum requirements. Takes responsibility for leading, formalizing process capability, institutionalizing process control, and implementing predictive processes. Ensures effective communication, adherence to specifications and standards. Conducts collaborative inspections and audits, oversees employee training, micro. and environmental monitoring. Ensures adherence to best practices, including GMP’s, SQF, HACCP/HARPC, Customer and Regulatory requirements. Actively engages in resolving customer and consumer complaints. Co-leads FSQA Systems and Programs, ensuring they meet or exceed regulatory, customer, company, and audit requirements. Plays an integral role in the plant leadership team, providing support to Sales, R&D, and Operations in addressing customer issues, questions, and concerns. Subject matter expert providing key assistance and support to the VP Technical services.


Essential Job Functions:

1. Work respectfully with Operations at all levels, fully engaged with the plant employees, supervisors, and leadership team.

2. Promote collaboration amongst all Responsible for documenting, correcting and future prevention of food safety, quality and food defense issues.

3. Oversees microbiological and environmental monitoring program.

4. Provides key support and expertise to the sanitation team meeting or exceeding KPI’s and requirements.


Essential Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, other related field or equivalent experience. Experience: > 5 years QA management experience and SQF or other GFSI auditing requirements.


Required Skills: • Proven skills to manage FSQA teams effectively and efficiently at the plant level. Proven record of great teaching, coaching and educational skills/tools. • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality, including, but not limited to: Food microbiology HARPC, HACCP, SOPs, GMPs, FSMA and all other applicable State and Local health and food safety codes, SQF, Customer requirements for major or other requirements from specific customers, Environmental programs and procedures, Food incident prevention, control, management and continuous improvement, • Robust background & expertise in Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, (CAPA’s) Corrective and Preventive Actions, and Continuous improvement, • Ability to investigate food borne illness complaints, outbreaks and interface
