Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Night Shift Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction activities during night shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Supervision: Oversee all construction activities on-site during night shifts to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Direct and manage crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
- Safety Management: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the job site. Conduct nightly safety meetings, monitor site conditions, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Monitor work quality to ensure it meets project specifications and standards. Conduct inspections and coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any deficiencies.
- Coordination with Day Shift: Maintain effective communication with the day shift superintendent and project management team to ensure seamless transition and continuity of work between shifts. Provide detailed handover reports and updates on progress, issues, and upcoming tasks.
- Scheduling and Productivity: Ensure nightly work schedules are met and adjust as necessary to maintain project timelines. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure material availability and proper staffing levels.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address issues that may arise during the night shift, including personnel, equipment, safety, or site conditions. Collaborate with the project team to develop solutions and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily logs, progress reports, safety reports, and time sheets. Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the project management team.
- Material and Equipment Management: Ensure all materials and equipment are properly used, maintained, and secured on-site. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate deliveries as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders as required, ensuring any concerns or questions are addressed promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite.
- OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively during night hours.
