POSITION: Associate, VC Secondaries


Our client is a secondary fund that focuses on late-stage venture capital and the fund invests both directly in companies and indirectly via venture funds.


The firm is seeking an Associate to join their growing secondary team in their San Francisco office. In this role, you will assist in sourcing, analyzing, and executing investments, and Associates take on substantial responsibility and are crucial to the deal team and firm investment decisions.


TIMING: Immediate / Summer 2024


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create financial analyses, waterfall models, and internal memos to assess and process potential investments
  • Drive the investment process by supporting the investment team in due diligence on companies and portfolios
  • Understand market trends and develop industry perspectives through mapping market sectors
  • Proactively source new investment opportunities
  • Assist in managing and mentoring our investment analysts and interns
  • Analyze, monitor, and manage current portfolio investments
  • Attend annual fund meetings and industry events to build personal networks and enhance Firm relationships
  • Contribute to various operational activities and assessments


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity
  • Passion for technology business models and venture capital trends
  • Curiosity for understanding venture transactions, fund accounting, liquidity waterfalls, and legal structures
