Summary
We are seeking a skilled individual to use software to convert designs into technical drawings and plans. The role involves preparing precise technical drawings for use in construction projects.
Essential Functions
- Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software.
- Develop technical drawings from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and architects.
- Collaborate in designing products using engineering and manufacturing techniques.
- Enhance architectural plans by incorporating knowledge of building techniques.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects.
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
- Work under the supervision of Senior Leadership.
Education, Qualities & Skills Required
- Minimum 2-year degree with at least 5 years of HVAC/Plumbing estimation experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD® and MS Office products.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Previous experience as a drafter is essential.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not oversee any direct reports.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee might be required to visit job site and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk and listen. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Travel
Travel to job sites might be needed.
