Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated therapist to join our team at our addiction treatment center. Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual therapy sessions to assess and address clients' addiction-related issues, mental health concerns, and underlying emotional factors contributing to their addiction.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to provide psychoeducation, support, and encouragement for clients in various stages of recovery.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to clients' specific needs, goals, and stage of recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care and coordinated treatment efforts.
- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to monitor clients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and address any emerging challenges or setbacks.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques, to support clients in achieving sustained recovery.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute mental health crises or substance-related emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Participate in regular case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to review cases, share insights, and collaborate on client care.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare, and integrate new knowledge into clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a therapist (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in the state of California.
- Experience working in addiction treatment or substance abuse counseling settings, preferably in an outpatient or residential treatment facility.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on clients' needs and strengths.
- Proficiency in delivering individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, with a compassionate and client-centered approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing mental health practice, including confidentiality, informed consent, and mandated reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable mindset to respond to the dynamic needs of clients and the treatment environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including continuing education and supervision, to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure requirements.
