The Project Manager leads, directs, and coordinates concrete projects, including project pursuit, staffing, proactive planning and implementation, budgeting, and risk management.


The Commercial Concrete Project Manager plays a crucial role in identifying project goals, objectives, and scope. Their responsibilities include creating a comprehensive project plan that outlines necessary tasks, timelines, and resource allocation to meet both company and customer expectations. The Project Manager collaborates closely with the Division Manager, coordinating manpower and materials, and ensuring day-to-day project execution.


Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring. Provide regular feedback and complete performance appraisals timely.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Foster an environment of diversity and inclusion for all staff.
  • Concrete Crew Supervision: Lead and supervise the concrete crew to complete concrete scope of work.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the installation of concrete work per plans and specifications, including paving, site work, retaining walls, drilled foundations, building foundations, elevated concrete, and tilt wall concrete.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and improve client relationships, fostering a trusted advisor status.
  • Contract Management: Understand and administer company contracts and subcontract agreements.
  • Community Involvement: Promote community involvement to build strategic relationships and embrace the community.
  • Estimating: Prepare detailed estimates by completing quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and studies for all concrete scopes.
  • Scope Management: Understand all factors required for a comprehensive trade package scope, including contract documents, site logistics, schedule, coordination, means, and methods.
  • Relationship Building: Foster and enhance relationships with internal teams, architects, owners, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Scheduling: Assist in developing and updating the master schedule to incorporate the concrete schedule; ensure trade partners and suppliers meet contractual obligations.
  • Quality Control: Manage the Quality Control (QC) program.
  • Compliance: Understand, comply, and advise others on company business ethics and compliance programs.
  • Field Operations: Manage and oversee field operation and engineering processes and procedures.
  • Safety Protocols: Develop and ensure the implementation of project safety protocols.
  • Financial Management: Ensure timely submission of pay applications and collaborate with accounting for timely payment of supplier invoices. Review subcontracts, Purchase Orders, and Change Orders for accuracy.
  • Project Reporting: Inform management of project and budget progress via regularly scheduled Operation Review Meetings (ORM).
  • Innovation: Support and drive the utilization of various company initiatives; promote and utilize emerging technologies and innovations.
  • Other Duties: Perform other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Education & Experience: 8 years of related experience in commercial construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Management Experience: Preferred experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Document Interpretation: Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with computer applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship-building skills.


Abilities:

  • Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical activities include using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, sitting, talking, hearing, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 are preferred.
