Position Summary:
We seek a detail-oriented and experienced IT Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT procurement, particularly within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, and expertise in cloud platforms like Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will oversee the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Manage the complete procurement lifecycle for IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring competitive pricing and service quality.
- Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and licensing terms, with a focus on MSP-specific needs.
- Evaluate vendor performance and provide recommendations for renewals or alternatives.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, licenses, and subscriptions.
- Monitor and manage Office 365 and Azure licenses to ensure efficient utilization and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast IT needs and align with budget plans.
- Work closely with IT administrators to procure and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Support provisioning and scaling of Azure cloud services to meet organizational and client requirements.
- Research and recommend cost-saving opportunities in cloud and software procurement specific to MSP operations.
- Ensure IT procurement practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and client contracts.
- Create and present reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, cost savings, and vendor performance metrics.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in cloud services and MSP procurement to enhance processes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in IT procurement, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Expertise in software licensing models, especially for Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.
- Familiarity with IT asset management and procurement best practices in MSP operations.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement and vendor management tools.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies within an MSP context.
- Experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and client-focused procurement strategies.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure or Office 365 Administration are a plus.
